⚠️ **Shortfall of $26,116 against $50K requirement.**

**Options if Scenario B applies:**
1. **Reduce grant request to $24,000** — co-contribution = $24,000 (achievable with cash spend)
2. **Increase documented cash expenditure** — ramp marketing to $12K, add contractor costs, etc.
3. **Request clarification from program** — some innovation grants do accept founder time as in-kind, others require cash only. MVP Ventures rules need checking.
4. **Hybrid approach:** Request $40K grant, document $40K co-contribution by increasing planned spend categories

**Recommended approach:** Prepare for both scenarios. When SmartyGrants form opens March 9, check their co-contribution definition immediately. If cash-only, default to Option 4 ($40K grant request).
