## The Basics

**What is RateRight?**
A hiring platform for construction. You post a job, workers apply at their own rate, you pick who you want. $50 flat per completed hire. That's it.

**How much does it cost?**
$50 per completed hire. Not per lead, not per click, not per month. One completed hire = $50. No subscription, no credits, no percentage of the worker's rate, no lock-in.

**What do you mean "workers keep 100%"?**
If a worker charges $55/hr, that's what they get. We don't clip the rate. Labour hire agencies typically take 20-40% off the worker's rate — the worker charges $55, the contractor pays $75, the agency keeps $20/hr. We don't do that.

**Is there a subscription or monthly fee?**
No. You only pay when you've actually hired someone and the job's done. No upfront costs. No ongoing fees.

## How It Works

**How do I post a job?**
Sign up at rateright.com.au. Post a job from your phone — takes about 2 minutes. Add the trade, location, rate range, and job details.

**How do workers apply?**
Workers on the platform see your job and apply at their own rate. You see their profile, experience, and the rate they're asking. You pick who you want.

**What trades are available?**
We're starting with construction trades — labourers, steelfixers, formworkers, concreters, carpenters, and more. If you need a trade and it's not listed, let us know.

**What areas do you cover?**
All of Australia. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Hobart, Darwin, and regional areas. National from day one.

## Money & Payment

**When do I pay the $50?**
After the hire is completed. Not before. You're not paying for leads or applications — you're paying for an actual worker who showed up and did the job.

**How do I pay?**
Through the platform. Card payment. Simple.

**Do I pay the worker through RateRight?**
No. You pay the worker directly, same as any other subcontractor arrangement. RateRight connects you — the payment relationship is between you and the worker.

**Is it really just $50? No hidden fees?**
$50. Once. Per completed hire. No hidden anything. We built this because we were sick of hidden fees in this industry.

## Workers & Quality

**How do I know the workers are any good?**
Workers set their own rate — which means the good ones charge what they're worth instead of getting lowballed by an agency. You see their profile, their experience, and their rate before you decide. You're choosing, not some recruiter who's never been on a site.

**What if a worker doesn't show up?**
You don't pay the $50 fee. The fee is only for completed hires. We're also implementing a no-show policy — workers who don't show get flagged. Reliability matters on site and it matters on our platform.

**Can I hire the same worker again?**
Yes. Once you've found someone good, hire them again whenever you need. Same $50 fee per hire.

---

## Compared to Labour Hire

**How is this different from a labour hire agency?**
Labour hire takes 20-40% of the worker's rate, every hour, every day. A worker charging $55/hr might cost you $75/hr through an agency. Over a year with a crew of ten, that's tens of thousands going to the agency.

We charge $50. Once. Per hire. The worker keeps their full rate. You save thousands. Do the maths.

**Why would a worker choose RateRight over an agency?**
Because they keep 100% of their rate. A steelfixer who charges $55/hr through us takes home $55/hr. Through an agency, they might see $38/hr. Same work, massively different pay.

**Are the workers employees or contractors?**
Workers on RateRight are independent contractors. They set their own rate, choose their own jobs. Same as any subcontractor arrangement. We're a marketplace, not an employer.

## Trust & Getting Started

**Who built this?**
Michael McLoughlin. 30 years in construction — steelfixer, formworker, supervisor. Built RateRight because the maths didn't add up and someone needed to fix it.

**Is RateRight a real company?**
RateRight Pty Ltd. Australian-owned, Australian-built. Registered business. This isn't a side project — it's the fix the industry needs.

**How do I get started?**
Go to rateright.com.au, sign up, post your first job. Takes 2 minutes. Or email us at hello@rateright.com.au — we'll walk you through it personally.

## Draft Notes

**Voice check:**
- Every answer is direct — question answered in first sentence, then detail ✅
- "Do the maths" — recurring theme, consistent with all messaging ✅
- "Never been on a site" — worker/contractor frustration, not competitor bashing ✅
- "Same as any other subcontractor arrangement" — addresses legal concern simply ✅
- No corporate FAQ voice. No "We're glad you asked!" nonsense ✅
- Michael Test: Reads like Michael explaining it to a contractor over a coffee. ✅

**Usage notes:**
- Can be put on website as FAQ page (Builder to implement)
- Susan can pull individual answers for email replies
- Could be formatted as PDF one-pager for hostel packs
- Review with Harper for any legal/compliance flags before publishing (especially contractor vs employee answer)
