# Worker Onboarding Email Sequence
**Created:** 2026-02-25 | **Status:** DRAFT — Awaiting Michael's review

**Trigger:** Worker completes sign-up on rateright.com.au

## Email 1: Welcome (Immediate)

**Subject:** You're in. Here's what happens next.
**From:** Michael <michael@rateright.com.au>

```
G'day [Name],
You're signed up. Here's how this works:
1. We're matching you to jobs right now based on your trade,
   location, and availability.
2. When a contractor needs someone like you, you'll get a
   notification.
3. You see the rate upfront. Accept or don't — your call.
**You pay nothing.** No fees, no commission, no percentage of
your wage. Ever. Contractors pay $50 to hire you. You keep 100%
of what you earn.
One thing that'll help: make sure your profile is complete.
Contractors pick workers with full profiles first — tickets,
experience, availability. The more detail, the faster the match.
Cheers,
Michael
P.S. If something's not working or you've got a question:
support@rateright.com.au. I read every email.
## Email 2: Profile Optimisation (Day 1)
**Subject:** Quick tip — profiles with these 3 things get matched first
**From:** Michael <michael@rateright.com.au>
```
G'day [Name],

Quick one. The workers getting matched fastest all have
three things on their profile:

1. **White Card uploaded** — contractors won't touch you
   without it. Photo of the card, takes 10 seconds.

2. **Availability set** — "available weekdays" vs nothing
   means the AI actually knows when to put you forward.

3. **Experience details** — "steelfixer" is good.
   "Steelfixer, 3 years, worked on high-rise in Parramatta"
   is better. Contractors want to know you've done similar work.

Takes 2 minutes. Makes the difference between getting matched
this week and waiting.

[BUTTON: Update My Profile]

Cheers,
Michael
```
**Logic:** Only send if profile is incomplete (missing White Card, availability, or experience detail). If profile is already complete → skip this email.
## Email 3: How Matching Works (Day 3)
**Subject:** How we pick who gets put forward for jobs
**From:** Michael <michael@rateright.com.au>
```
G'day [Name],

People ask how matching works, so here's the honest version:

When a contractor posts a job, our system looks at every
available worker and ranks them on:

- **Trade match** — right skills for the job
- **Distance** — closer to the site = higher ranking
- **Ratings** — good reviews from past jobs push you up
- **Profile completeness** — full profile beats empty profile
- **Availability** — available when they need you = match

You're not competing against 10,000 people. You're being
matched to jobs where YOU make sense. If a steelfixing job
comes up in your area and you're available — you're in the mix.

**Haven't heard anything yet?** Two common reasons:
1. Your area might be quiet right now — construction work
   is seasonal and project-based
2. Your profile might need more detail — check the tips
   from my last email

No news doesn't mean no interest. When the right job comes
up, you'll hear from us.

Cheers,
Michael
```
## Email 4: Re-engagement (Day 7)
**Subject:** Week one — here's what's happening
**From:** Michael <michael@rateright.com.au>
```
G'day [Name],

Quick update after your first week on RateRight.

**What we're seeing nationally:**
- [X] jobs posted this week across [Y] cities
- Trades in highest demand: [top 2-3 trades]
- Busiest areas: [top 2-3 locations]

**Your profile status:**
[DYNAMIC: either "Complete — you're in every relevant match"
or "Missing [specific items] — fix these to get matched"]

If you've already been matched and started a job — great.
Rate the contractor when it's done. Good ratings build your
reputation and get you better matches.

If you're still waiting — hang in there. Construction hiring
is lumpy. A quiet Monday turns into 15 jobs posted on Wednesday.
Stay available and your profile active.

[BUTTON: Check My Matches]

Cheers,
Michael
```
**Logic:** Populate with real platform data. Dynamic profile status section.
## Email 5: Check-in (Day 14)
**Subject:** Still with us?
**From:** Michael <michael@rateright.com.au>
```
G'day [Name],

Been two weeks. Just checking in.

If you've been matched and working — beauty. Keep going,
keep rating, keep building your reputation on the platform.

If you haven't been matched yet — I get it, that's frustrating.
Here's what I'd check:

1. Is your availability up to date? (Settings → Availability)
2. Have you expanded your travel range? Even 10km wider
   opens up more jobs
3. Is your profile complete? Contractors skip incomplete ones

Still stuck? Reply to this email. I'll personally look at
your profile and tell you what's happening in your area.

We're growing every week. More contractors posting means
more jobs to match. Thanks for being early — it matters.

Cheers,
Michael
```
## Technical Notes for Builder
- All emails from michael@rateright.com.au (or designated sender)
- Unsubscribe link mandatory (Australian Spam Act 2003)
- Track: open rate, click rate, profile completion after email 2
- Dynamic fields: [Name], [X] jobs, [Y] cities, profile status
- Conditional logic: Email 2 only sends if profile incomplete
- Email 4 needs real-time platform data feed
- Plain text fallback for every email (many tradies on old phones)
- Mobile-first design — most opens will be on phones on site
---
## Metrics That Matter
| Metric | Target | Why |
|--------|--------|-----|
| Profile completion rate after email 2 | >60% | Directly reduces "no matches" support tickets |
| Open rate | >40% | Construction audience, relevant content |
| "Where's my job?" support tickets Week 1 | <10% of sign-ups | Email 3 should pre-empt this |
| Day 14 active profiles | >50% of sign-ups | Email 5 catches drop-offs |
*Every email should sound like Michael checking in, not a SaaS onboarding drip. If it sounds automated, rewrite it.*
