# 2631 — HPE Field of Play Hornsby — Wed 8 Jul 2026

**Supervisor:** Rocky
**Crew on site:** Rocky, Maddie, Colley (surname TBC — Dublin lad, day-labour only, with us one day, off to another company tomorrow).
**Weather:** Overcast, dry most of day, ground wet underfoot (recent rain).

## The day in one breath

First day on the **footpath thickening** scope. Set-out pulled, edge boards and star pickets stripped, Royal Plywood LVL/ply/conduit landed, shutters cut on the DeWalt, and the dowel drilling got under way — but the **ground under the blinding is soft** (500 mm down, no rock yet on the 12 mm dowels). Flagged.

---

## Timeline

- **07:22** — Rocky + Colley on site. Maddie ETA late (night shifts). Rocky to ring Liam.
- **~07:55** — Maddie landed. *Note: ~25–30 min site-warm-up lag this morning — observed pattern, factored into pricing.*
- **08:06** — Colley **80%** through stripping edge boards + star pickets. **Set-out line pulled at 1.5 m offset** (1500 mm off the back of the footpath thickening / off the footpath CL).
- **09:40** — **Royal Plywood delivery landed** — docket 042655, 8/7 (today). Two boys straight onto the DeWalt table saw making up shutters. Rocky starts **drilling 88× 12 mm dowels** into the blinding.
- **11:10** — On break.
- **12:35** — Maddie still on the drill / whacking ground.
- **12:48** — Two boys moved down to the footpath.

---

## Delays / Disruptions

- **Site shortfall — no 6 mm SDS bit, no socket for hex head screws.** Can't fix anything off the new line until that's sorted. Flagged to office.
- **Ground condition concern:** soft/loose under the blinding. 500 mm down on the 12 mm dowels and still no rock. Worth keeping an eye on as the thickening work progresses — could affect dowel anchorage / pour design assumptions. Flagged.
