# Michael's Sales Playbook — Construction Cold Calls

## The Pitch (30 seconds)

"G'day [Name], Michael here from RateRight. I've been in construction 30 years — steelfixing, formwork, the lot. Built a platform where you post a job, workers apply, you pick who you want. $50 flat fee. They stay a day or 30 years — still $50. No agencies, no ongoing fees. Worth a quick yarn?"

## Your Unfair Advantage

You're not a tech guy selling software. You're a fellow tradie who built something because you saw the problem. USE THAT:
- "I've been on sites my whole career — I know what it's like trying to find reliable blokes"
- "I built this because agencies were ripping everyone off and I was sick of it"
- "I'm still on site now at Powerhouse Parramatta as a general foreman"

## Common Objections

### "I already use agencies"
"Yeah, and what do they charge — $5-15/hour markup on every worker, every hour? We charge $50 once. You keep the relationship. No middleman clipping the ticket forever."

### "What's the catch?"
"No catch. $50 when you hire someone. Workers are free to sign up. We make our money on volume — thousands of $50 hires, not squeezing individual contractors."

### "Why wouldn't I just use SEEK/Indeed?"
"You can — and pay $300+ per job ad with no guarantee. We're $50 when you actually HIRE someone. No hire, no charge."

### "I don't need anyone right now"
"No worries at all. When you do, we're there. $50, no subscription, no lock-in. I'll shoot you a text with the link — keep it for when you need it."

### "How do I know the workers are any good?"
"Every worker has ratings from real jobs. You see their track record before you call them. And if it doesn't work out, you leave constructive feedback — helps the next contractor, helps the worker improve."

### "Never heard of you"
"We just launched. I'm calling blokes I know in the industry first — giving you lot first crack before we open it up wide. Been building this for 4 months."

## The Close

Always end with a next step:
- "Can I send you a link to have a look?"
- "Want to put a test job up? Takes 2 minutes, free until you hire."
- "I'll text you the details — have a squiz when you get a chance."

## Rules
1. **Be yourself.** You're Michael, not a salesman. Tradie to tradie.
2. **Keep it under 2 minutes** unless they're chatting.
3. **Don't oversell.** If they're not interested, move on. No begging.
4. **Listen more than talk.** Ask about their business, their pain points.
5. **Follow up once.** Text 48 hours later if no response. Then stop.

## Practice Plan
1. Read this playbook
2. Call the VAPI training line (Builder setting it up)
3. Do 5 practice calls
4. I'll review transcripts and give coaching notes
5. When you're confident → real calls
