## SECTION A: EMAIL SEQUENCE — "Interested, Send Me More Info"

*Use when: They liked the pitch. Want to see the platform. Asked for details.*

### Touch 1: Same Day (within 2 hours of call)

**Subject: Good chatting, [Name] — here's RateRight**

```
Hi [Name],
Good chatting earlier. As promised, here's the quick rundown:
rateright.com.au — sign up takes 2 minutes, AI builds your
company profile from your ABN.
How it works:
  1. Post a job (60 seconds)
  2. AI matches you with rated [trade]s near your site
  3. You pick who you want, hire them direct
  4. $50 flat fee. That's it. No percentages, no ongoing costs.
The connection is yours — whether they stay a week or 30 years,
it's still $50.
Have a look when you get a chance. Happy to jump on another
call if anything's unclear.
Cheers,
Michael
### Touch 2: Day 3 — Value Add
**Subject: Quick thought on [trade] hiring costs**
```
Hi [Name],

Quick one — I was thinking about what you said on the phone
about [reference something specific from the call].

Ran the numbers: a typical labour hire agency charges 30-45%
markup. For a $40/hr [trade], that's $25/hr going to the
agency — about $950/week in markup alone. Over 6 months,
that's nearly $12,000 per worker.

RateRight: $50. Once. The whole $40/hr goes to the worker.

Just worth thinking about next time you need someone on site.

Cheers,
Michael

### Touch 3: Day 7 — Soft Close

**Subject: Any questions about RateRight?**

```
Hi [Name],
Just checking in — did you get a chance to look at
rateright.com.au?
No pressure at all. If you've got a job coming up that needs
[trade]s, happy to walk you through posting it. Takes about
60 seconds.
If the timing's not right, no worries — I'll check back in
a few weeks.
Cheers,
Michael
```

### Touch 2: Day 4 — Gentle Nudge + Value

```
[SOUTHWEST CONSTRUCTION]
Hi, Michael from RateRight again. Quick thought — next time you need a formworker or concreter on site, post a job for $50 flat instead of paying agency markup. rateright.com.au — 0468 087 171
[AMA FORMWORK]
```

### Touch 3: Day 10 — Final Nudge (Then Nurture)

```
[ALL — personalise name/trade]
Hi [Name], Michael from RateRight. Last nudge — if you ever need [trade]s without the agency markup, we're at rateright.com.au. $50 flat per hire. Give me a bell anytime: 0468 087 171. Cheers 🤙
```

*After Touch 3 with no response: Move to monthly nurture (one SMS per month with market intel or a new feature). Don't keep pushing.*

---

## SECTION C: LINKEDIN SEQUENCE — Decision-Maker Engagement

*Use when: Good conversation. They engaged but didn't commit. Want to build the relationship.*

**Pre-req:** Michael needs a LinkedIn account. If not active, skip to email Touch 2 style instead.

### Touch 1: Same Day — Connection Request

```
[CONNECTION NOTE — 300 char limit]
G'day [Name] — Michael from RateRight. Good chat today about [trade] hiring. Thought I'd connect here too. Building something to cut the agency middleman for contractors like you. rateright.com.au 🤙
```

### Touch 2: Day 5 — After They Accept (Message)

```
Thanks for connecting, [Name].
No sales pitch — just thought this might interest you. We've been
looking at what contractors actually pay agencies for [trade]
workers vs what the worker gets. The markup is wild.
We're trying to fix that with a $50 flat fee model. Direct hire,
rated workers, no ongoing costs.
If you've got 5 minutes for a coffee catch-up (virtual or
otherwise), I'd love to get your take on hiring challenges
in [their area/trade]. Always learning.
Cheers,
Michael
```

### Touch 3: Day 14 — Content Share / Industry Angle

```
[Name] — saw this and thought of our chat:
[Share one of these depending on timing:]
OPTION A (if Airtasker H1 is out):
"Airtasker just reported — marketplace connections down,
share price tanking. The platform model is shifting.
We're building something different for construction.
Worth a look: rateright.com.au"
OPTION B (Zenith scandal):
"That Zenith labour hire story — $104M in unpaid taxes,
phoenix companies. This is why direct hiring matters.
No middleman that can fold owing millions."
OPTION C (industry data):
"181,000 worker shortage projected by 2027 in construction.
Finding good tradies is only getting harder. We're building
a ratings-based platform to help — rateright.com.au"
```

*After Touch 3: Engage organically with their posts. Like, comment, stay visible. Don't message again for 30 days unless they initiate.*

## "EMPTY MARKETPLACE" OBJECTION — The Launch-Week Script

This is the #1 objection we'll face in Week 1. Contractor searches, sees few or no matches. Handle it BEFORE they discover it:

**Pre-emptive (during the call, before they sign up):**
> *"We're launching this week — you'd be one of the first contractors on. That means two things: one, you get first pick of workers signing up. Two, I'm personally making sure early contractors get matched fast. If we don't have your trade yet, I'll let you know the moment we do. Being early is an advantage here, not a risk."*

**If they've already signed up and see few results:**
> *"We're in launch week — workers are signing up daily. You're in the queue and you'll be first to see matches in your area. I'll personally follow up within 48 hours with an update. And remember — it's free to post a job. You only pay $50 when you actually hire someone."*

**Key reframe:** Early adopter = first pick, not empty shelf. Free to post = zero risk in trying.

---

## INBOUND ENQUIRY RESPONSE PROTOCOL (Launch Week)

If a contractor calls/texts 0468 087 171 or emails after seeing the site:

| Channel | Response Time | Who Handles | Template |
|---------|--------------|-------------|----------|
| Phone call | Immediate (if Michael available) | Michael | Use trade-specific opener below, adapt to their question |
| SMS inbound | Within 30 min during business hours | Michael texts, Susan drafts | *"G'day [Name], Michael here. Thanks for reaching out. Happy to walk you through it — got 2 minutes for a quick call? Or I can send through the details."* |
| Email inbound | Within 2 hours during business hours | Susan drafts, Michael sends | Email Touch 1 from Section A, personalised to their query |
| Website signup | Within 1 hour | Susan monitors Supabase, alerts Michael | SMS: *"G'day [Name], Michael from RateRight. Saw you just signed up — welcome. If you need help posting your first job or have any questions, give me a buzz on 0468 087 171."* |

**After hours (before 7 AM / after 5 PM):** Queue for next business morning. Don't respond at midnight.

**Susan's monitoring role:** Run `bash susan/scripts/supply-check.sh` each heartbeat. If new contractor signup detected (count increases), immediately draft a welcome SMS for Michael and alert via fleet.

## TRADE-SPECIFIC CALL OPENERS (Pick the one matching their trade)

### For Steelfixing Contractors
> *"G'day [Name], Michael here. Steelfixer — 30 years on the tools, now supervising. I know what it's like trying to find blokes who can actually read a bar chart and tie beams properly. Built a platform called RateRight where you can see a fixer's ratings from real sites before you hire them. $50 flat. No agency cut. Got 2 minutes?"*

**Trade hooks:** Bar schedules, crane time, reo crews, weather delays on pour days. Michael speaks this language natively — lean into it. If they mention a specific project type (high-rise, bridges, civil), mirror it.

### For Formwork Contractors
> *"G'day [Name], Michael here — 30 years in construction, steelfixer by trade but I've worked alongside formies my whole career. Know how hard it is finding a chippy who can actually set formwork to spec. RateRight lets you see rated formworkers — their track record from real jobs. $50 to connect, keep them forever. No ongoing fees. Worth a quick chat?"*

**Trade hooks:** Accuracy matters more than speed in formwork, crane pours, stripping schedules, weather windows. Formwork contractors care about precision — emphasise the ratings showing reliability and quality.

### For General Construction / Site Managers
> *"G'day [Name], Michael from RateRight. I've been on construction sites 30 years — steelfixer, now supervising. You know the drill — agencies charge 30-40% markup and half the time the bloke doesn't show. We've built a platform where you post a job, see rated workers matched to you, and pay $50 flat to hire. No percentage, no subscription. The worker stays a week or stays five years — still $50. Got a minute?"*

**Trade hooks:** Multi-trade hiring (labourers, concreters, carpenters), project scheduling pressure, cost control across the build. Site managers care about reliability and volume — lead with the fill rate and ratings.

---

## OBJECTION-RESPONSE CHEAT SHEET (for during the call)

| They Say | Michael Says |
|----------|-------------|
| "We're happy with our agency" | "Fair enough — what are they charging you? Most agencies take 30-45% on top. We're $50 flat. Worth having as a backup?" |
| "Never heard of you" | "We're new — launched this month. I'm a steelfixer, 30 years in construction. Built this because I've seen what agencies charge." |
| "$50 sounds too cheap" / "What's the catch?" | "$50 is our fee to connect you. The worker sets their rate and you pay them direct. We make money on volume, not margins. Think of it like Gumtree but purpose-built for construction, with ratings. Agencies charge $4000+ for the same worker over 10 weeks — their model needs a markup to survive. Ours doesn't." |
| "How do I know the workers are any good?" | "Every worker has ratings from previous contractors. You can see their history before you call them." |
| "We need someone today" | "Sign up takes 2 minutes — rateright.com.au. Post the job and you'll get matches. For urgent stuff, you might still need your agency today, but next time try us first." |
| "Do you have [specific trade]?" | "We're building the worker side now — sign up and post the job. If we don't have a match yet, I'll personally make sure you're first to know when we do." |
| "What about insurance / WorkCover?" | "Workers handle their own. We're a platform connecting you directly — same as if a mate recommended someone. You'd still do your usual checks." |
| "Send me an email" | "Done — what's the best email? I'll send it through this arvo." (Then use Email Touch 1) |
| "What if I want the same worker again?" | "Rehire them straight from your dashboard. One tap. And because you've already paid the $50 connection fee, there's no extra charge — that worker is yours for as long as you want them." |
| "What if the worker's no good?" | "You rate them honestly. If they no-show, money-back guarantee. If they're just not great, your rating helps other contractors — and we'll match you with someone better-rated. No extra charge for the replacement." |

---

## SECTION D: POST-HIRE RETENTION (After Successful Placement)

*See full workflows: `repeat-hire-retention-workflows-2026-02-26.md`*

**After positive rating (4-5 stars) — Day 0 SMS:**
> *G'day [contractor_name], glad [worker_name] worked out. Next time you need a [trade], rehire [worker_first] from your dashboard — or tap into the whole pool. Same deal, $50. — RateRight*

**After positive rating — Day 7 SMS:**
> *Hey [contractor_name], if you need another [trade] or a different skill on site, your matches are ready. Same deal — $50, one-off. rateright.com.au/dashboard — RateRight*

**After negative rating (1-3 stars) — Day 0 SMS:**
> *Hey [contractor_name], sorry that hire didn't work out. Your feedback helps improve matches for everyone. Want us to find a better match? No extra charge for the replacement. — RateRight*

---

## TIMING RULES

- **Calls:** 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM weekdays
- **Best time for tradies:** 6:30-7:00 AM (before site starts) or 3:30-4:30 PM (winding down)
- **Never call:** Before 6:30 AM, after 5:00 PM, weekends, public holidays
- **Follow-up SMS:** Same day, 2-3 hours after call (gives them time to get back to work)
- **Follow-up email:** Same day, within 2 hours (while conversation is fresh)

---

*All messages are drafts. Michael sends. Susan updates CRM after each call outcome.*

⚠️ **Reminder:** Log EVERYTHING. Call duration, who answered, what they said, their tone. This data is gold for refining the pitch.

📸 **Herald needs success story data** — if ANY call converts, capture:
1. Company name + trade (formwork, steelfixing, etc.)
2. How many workers they typically hire per month
3. What they were paying before (agency %, Seek ads, word of mouth)
4. A quote — anything like "that's a no-brainer" or "wish I'd had this years ago"
5. Permission to use their name/company in a case study (ask casually: "mind if we mention you?")

This becomes our first real testimonial — worth more than any ad.
