# Worker Acquisition Plan — Launch Critical
**Created:** 2026-02-19
**Priority:** 🔴 URGENT — Workers needed on platform before Saturday
**Owner:** Susan (strategy + content) + Herald (poster design) + Michael (Facebook posting)

---

## Strategy Overview

We now own BOTH sides of the marketplace. Contractors are ready (10+ leads with contact details). But zero workers = zero value. We need workers registered before Saturday's launch push.

**Target audiences (in priority order):**
1. **Irish immigrants in Sydney** — Michael's network, highest trust, construction background
2. **Backpackers on working holiday visas** — Need work, flexible, high volume
3. **Other immigrant communities** — UK, European, South American tradies

**Channels:**
1. Facebook groups (Michael posts directly — authentic, free, immediate)
2. Hostel outreach (poster on jobs boards + email partnership)
3. Backpacker job boards (free listings)
4. Word of mouth (Ardi and existing contacts)

---

## CHANNEL 1: Facebook Groups

### Why This Works
Michael is in 256 groups. These are communities, not advertising channels. A genuine post from a bloke who's been on the tools 30 years hits completely different to a marketing ad. The key: **man-to-man, not brand-to-audience.**

### Target Groups (Priority Order)

#### 🇮🇪 Irish Groups (HIGHEST PRIORITY — Michael's community)
1. **Irish Around Sydney** — facebook.com/groups/irisharoundsydneynew
2. **Irish Moving to Australia** — facebook.com/groups/irishmovingtoaustralia
3. **Irish People Living In Australia** — facebook.com/groups/IrishAroundOz
4. **Lansdowne Club** — lansdowneclub.com.au (Irish Business Network, Sydney HQ, est. 1986)
5. **Irish Support Agency NSW** — irishsupportagency.org.au (community groups list)

#### 🎒 Backpacker/WHV Groups
6. **Jobs Australia - Backpackers & WHV Holders** — facebook.com/groups/1921776868201849
7. **Backpackers in Sydney** (search Facebook — multiple large groups)
8. **Australia Backpackers Jobs** (search Facebook — multiple groups)
9. **Construction Jobs in Australia** (Facebook group)
10. **Sydney Working Holiday** (Facebook group)

#### 🏗️ Construction/Trades Groups
11. **Construction Workers Sydney** (Facebook groups)
12. **Labourers Wanted Sydney** (Facebook groups)
13. **Sydney Tradies** (Facebook groups)

### 3 Facebook Post Templates for Michael

**IMPORTANT:** These are written in Michael's voice. Copy-paste ready. No hashtags, no marketing speak, no emojis spam. Just a bloke talking to other blokes.

#### POST 1: "The Irish Tradie Post" (For Irish groups)
**Best for:** Irish Around Sydney, Irish Moving to Australia, Irish People Living in Aus

```
Lads,
30 years on the tools — steelfixer and formworker. Irish, been in Sydney 2 years now.
I've been building something on the side. RateRight — a platform where tradies and labourers can get matched with contractors looking for workers. No agency taking a cut of your pay. You keep 100% of your rate. Every job you do builds your ratings, so the better you work, the more work comes your way.
If you're looking for construction work in Sydney — or you know someone who is — sign up and create a profile. It's free for workers. Always will be.
Especially useful if you're new to Sydney and don't have a network yet. The platform IS the network.
Any questions, drop me a message. Happy to have a chat.
Rocky
```

**Why this works:** Irish community trusts their own. Michael IS one of them. 30 years on the tools gives instant credibility. No selling — just "I built this, it's free, it helps."

---

#### POST 2: "The Backpacker Construction Post" (For WHV/backpacker groups)
**Best for:** Jobs Australia WHV, Backpackers in Sydney, Construction Jobs Australia

```
Hey — quick one for anyone on a working holiday looking for construction work in Sydney.
I've spent 30 years in construction (steelfixer/formworker) and I've built a platform called RateRight that connects workers with contractors who need them.
How it works:
- Sign up free, build your profile
- Get matched with contractors hiring in Sydney
- You keep 100% of what you earn — no agency taking a cut
- Every job builds your ratings — better ratings = more work
If you've got a white card and you're keen to work on site, this is for you. Steel fixing, formwork, concreting, labouring — all of it.
Construction work in Sydney counts towards your visa days too if you're chasing that second/third year visa.
[LINK]
Drop me a line if you have questions.
```

**Why this works:** Addresses the exact pain points — finding work without a network, keeping all your pay, visa day counting. Practical, not salesy.

---

#### POST 3: "The Opportunity Post" (For general/mixed groups)
**Best for:** Any Sydney group, trades groups, job-seeking groups

```
Looking for construction workers in Sydney.
I run RateRight — a platform that matches workers with contractors. No recruitment agency middleman. Workers keep 100% of their rate. Contractors pay $50 to hire you, not 20-40% of your wage to an agency.
What that means for you:
- Higher take-home pay (no agency margin)
- Build a reputation through ratings (good work = more work = career growth)
- Direct relationship with whoever hires you
If you're a tradie, labourer, or keen to get into construction — create a free profile.
Steel fixers, formworkers, concreters, labourers, chippies, sparkies — all welcome.
[LINK]
```

**Why this works:** Shortest of the three. Leads with "Looking for construction workers" which is what job seekers scan for. Explains the benefit in one line.

---

### Posting Strategy
1. **Wednesday night (TONIGHT):** Post 1 in 2-3 Irish groups
2. **Thursday morning:** Post 2 in 3-4 backpacker/WHV groups
3. **Thursday afternoon:** Post 3 in 2-3 construction/general groups
4. **Friday:** Re-share any that got traction, reply to comments
5. **Saturday (launch day):** Follow-up comments on all posts with "just launched" energy

**Rules:**
- Only post in groups Michael is already a member of
- One post per group (don't spam)
- Michael replies to every comment personally
- NO links in the first line (Facebook buries link-first posts)
- If group has rules about job posts, follow them

### Hostel Email Template (For Michael's Approval)

**Subject:** Free poster for your jobs board? Construction work for your guests

```
Hi there,
My name's Michael — construction worker, 30 years, still on the tools. I run
RateRight on the side — a platform that connects workers with contractors
hiring in Sydney.
Quick ask: Could we put a poster on your jobs board?
Your guests looking for construction work would find it useful:
- Free to sign up, keep 100% of their pay — no agency taking a cut
- Ratings build over time — good work follows them wherever they go in Australia
- Direct connection with contractors, not through a middleman
- Long-term work, not just day jobs — could even lead to sponsorship
- Construction work counts towards WHV visa days
We'd love to drop off an A4 poster (or email you a PDF to print). No cost,
no commitment — just another option for your guests who are looking for work.
Happy to pop in and chat if that's easier. We're based in Sydney.
Cheers,
Michael
RateRight | rateright.com.au
```

**Why this works:**
- Short, respectful of their time
- Offers something for FREE that benefits their guests
- No ask beyond "put a poster on your board"
- Hostels WANT their guests to find work (longer stays, happier guests)
- Mentions visa days — this is gold for WHV holders

### Hostel Outreach Schedule
1. **Thursday:** Send email to top 10 hostels (highest volume/most central)
2. **Friday:** Follow up with phone calls to any that didn't reply
3. **Saturday:** Drop off posters to any that said yes (or just walk in and ask reception)

**Poster needed from Herald** — see coordination section below.

## CHANNEL 3: Online Job Boards (Free)

### Backpacker Job Board (backpackerjobboard.com.au)
- Australia's most popular WHV job site
- Free to post for employers
- Construction category exists
- **Action:** Post a "Workers Wanted" listing linking to RateRight sign-up

### Travellers At Work (taw.com.au)
- Promotes construction + seasonal work
- Has premium tier but basic listing is free
- **Action:** Create employer listing

### Gumtree Jobs
- Post in "Construction" category, Sydney
- Free tier available
- **Action:** Post worker-facing listing

---

## CHANNEL 4: Word of Mouth (Immediate)

### Ardi "The Turk" (Score 95)
- Already knows Michael personally
- Was looking for work ("find me good job")
- **Action:** Michael calls Ardi, tells him to sign up AND tell his mates
- One tradesman telling 5 mates = 6 workers on day 1

### HLH Group / Hunter Labour Hire
- Sydney construction labour hire — specifically targets Irish/UK/Aussie backpackers
- They're a COMPETITOR but their workers might also be on RateRight (workers can be on multiple platforms)
- Their job board mentions "English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh & Australian" team
- **Intel only** — don't approach directly

---

| Facebook post reach | 500+ views across all posts |
| Hostel partnerships | 5+ hostels displaying poster |
| Trades represented | At least 3 (labouring, steel fixing, formwork) |

---

## Risks & Mitigations

| Risk | Mitigation |
|------|-----------|
| Facebook groups remove posts as spam | Write authentically, follow group rules, don't use marketing language |
| Hostels ignore email | Follow up with phone. Walk in with poster in hand. |
| Workers sign up but no contractors yet | Have contractor outreach ready to fire same week (we have 10+ leads with emails) |
| QR code / sign-up page not ready | Check with Builder/Sentinel that worker registration flow works before posting |
| Low quality sign-ups (tourists, not workers) | Poster + posts emphasise "white card" and construction experience |

---
